“I love what it means for other little girls who will identify with it & be empowered.”
Last week, Mattel announced that it would be presenting singer/actress/teen sensation Zendaya with her very own Barbie doll.
On Sept. 26, Zendaya hosted the Barbie™ Rock 'n Royals Concert Experience benefiting VH1 Save The Music Foundation at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, where she "met" her likeness for the first time.

Zendaya was ecstatic about her doll, saying "When I was little I couldn't find a Barbie that looked like me, my...how times have changed."
She also thanked Barbie for the honor, and for their "diversification and expansion of the definition of beauty." The stunning doll is a recreation of her Vivienne Westwood look at the 2015 Oscars, where E! Fashion Police's Guiliana Rancic said the star's faux locs made her look like she smelled of "patchouli oil and weed."
