Earlier this month, the world's most perfect pop star couple, Zayn Malik and Perrie Edwards, split up.
Reports suggested that Zayn called off his two-year engagement to Perrie and ended their four-year relationship over text message.
Immediately the narrative painted Zayn as the instigator and Perrie as the heartbroken victim.
It was also suggested that every move Perrie made was to show Zayn "what he's missing".
The first time was during an interview with E! just days after the split was announced.
When asked how she was doing, Perrie responded simply, "I'm good, thank you", before her Little Mix bandmates jumped in to say they didn't want to talk about Zayn, and instead wanted to focus on the promotion of their single.
